Lands' End Canvas Tee & Seersucker Skirt

Got the Lands' End Canvas seersucker shorts during their last promo(see post here). Love the fabric. So light and non-wrinkly, no iron ever needed. That is my kind of summer clothing. Want to get another pair in navy.

Thanks to Apples and Pencil Skirts who gave a heads up for LEC's latest promo, I quickly went to the website but the navy seersucker shorts were sold out at the time(I just checked last nite and they pop back).

Even though I didn't get my navy seersucker shorts, I did pick up a seersucker skirt in navy.

Got the tee and skirt 25% off their sale price plus free shipping.

The tee is very comfortable, even though the v-neckline is a bit low but I can always layer it with a cami underneath. Not a big deal.

The seersucker skirt has elastic waistband. You wouldn't believe how incredibly comfortable it is. My type of skirt to wear to all-you-can-buffet haha!! I also like the length of the skirt as it is not mini and it's not knee-length.

When there is a sale......

I got the Tory Burch Reva flats when I was in Toronto last week. I was eyeing on those for months and  was so excited when I finally got them. I have read reviews that they are not the most comfortable flats. When I tried them on many times in the store, they were very comfy and I wonder what those people are talking about.

J. Crew ankle stretch toothpick jean in garment-dyed twill (neon persimmon)
Tory Burch Reva Flats

Got this J. Crew tee during the in-store 30% off sale event. The fabric is very light and breezy, perfect for the summer. However, this is a size L. It was 30% off $24.99 and it was too good of a deal to pass so I grabbed it. Obviously, it's 2 sizes too big for me and it falls off my shoulders all day long and the scoop neckline could plunge really low at times. Now, I want to get it in the right size since I love it so much but it is not on sale online.

Nail polish: Julep Jessica

For those who are not familiar with Lia Sophia jewelry, it can be purchased only through an advisor(like Avon). A girl from work hosted a Lia Sophia jewelry party a while back and I have been buying a few pieces here and there from her throughout the years. They are very unique pieces and they can be pricey. But they always have specials going on, like buy a few items at regular price and get a few items at half price.

I am loving the mint color this summer and when I saw this gorgeous stretch bracelet, I gotta have it. I got the matching necklace which I thought is great in the catalog, but in real life, not so impressive.

Got this Julep nail polish from my goodie-box won earlier. I'm surprised I like the color. I'm usually only wear pastel pink or purple on my fingers but I find this color very summery and match perfect with my bracelet.

Back to my Reva flats. Within 5 mins into the flats, my feet hurt. I took the advice of my sister-in-law who has a pair already and suggested to go half a size bigger. The leather of these flats is soft but they hurt on the edges at the front of the shoes. My sister-in-law told me they hurt her heels so I was surprised that they hurt at the front as well. What am I going to do? I love them and do not wish to return them.

My temporary solution:

Went out to buy these foot covers by Secret. As I don't want to wear socks with these gorgeous flats, these seem to protect(oh, well, kind of) front of my feet where the edges of the shoes hurt the most. Will report back if these make any difference at all.

Needed a pair of running shoes as mine is all worn out only after a few months. I was willing to spend a lot of money on a pair of good running sneakers before. But now I don't spend as much time in the gym as before so I'd go for cheaper kinds.

The sale for sneakers is usually before school starts but my current pair will not last for another 2 months. There is a sale on at SportChek, buy one and get a pair FREE. Yes, you heard me right. FREE pair. Guess the running shoes are from past season or even past years. Only have a very limited selection of sizes and models. But I was lucky to find 2 pairs of my size.

I got the 2 pairs for $69.98, not a bad deal at all. Of course, if you are very particular about the models and release dates, you won't be impressed. But to me, a good comfortable pair is all I need. Now, I got the bonus and got a pair free.

OOTD's

Here are a few OOTD's:

J. Crew Tippi sweater in heart crepe in S
J. Crew Scout Chino in size 6

I'm absolutely loving my new Tippi. Now I totally understand why people are raving about the Tippi sweaters from J. Crew. I like it that it is light-weight, wrinkle-free and 3/4 sleeve length. Perfect for cool summer nights. During the J. Crew 30% off sale items in store promo, I grabbed the neon pink linen tippi. It is very nice but very wrinkly. Just feel awkward that I have to iron a sweater. Also read that the linen may stretch a bit. Will have to wait and see.

American Eagle stripe tee in S
J. Crew factory Bermuda shorts(white) in size 6
J. Crew necklace
Cole Haan sandals

Loving my J. Crew necklace

This is my puppy(oh well, he is not a puppy anymore but to me he is :) cooling off on my kitchen tile floor. Don't blame him as he has a thick coat of hair and with the recent heat wave.....

My thermometer outside the deck. Piping hot 40C, oh my, too hot for June. But shouldn't complain, next thing you know would be summer being over and I will start complaining about the extreme cold weather. So enjoy!

Sizzling hot......

Sorry for the lack of posts for the past week. I just got back home from Toronto and the hot humid weather has been draining all my energy.

Had a great visit at home. Celebrated Father's Day with my dearest Dad and family on the weekend. My hubby's family used to have a restaurant and we helped out whenever we could. Mother's Day has always been the busiest day of the year. Father's Day would be busy but not as nearly as crazy as Mother's Day. Why? Mother's Day is the "official" day for all Moms to relax for the day and free tickets not to enter the kitchen. But for Father's Day, what happens? Moms will have to cook for Dads and families, just like any other day.

Took Dad out for our family's favorite: sushi. Perfect for a hot summer night.

I did pretty good in terms of limiting myself to excessive shopping. Besides the J. Crew haul, I only got a few other things.

I am a big Lululmeon fan and have been a loyal customer for years. I know a lot of people cannot justify of how pricey their items are. But honestly, the quality is excellent and after constant washes, they still look great, no fading of colors and they hold up exceptionally well.

I was looking for a tank top which is more loose on the torso (yes, to hide my imperfections) this top is longer too to hide my other ass-set.

I have been eying on the Tory Burch Reva flats for months. Yes, I got the cheaper version of the Coach  Dora flats(as mentioned in this post), every time I see Tory Burch Reva, I still love them.

Went with the black Reva with silver buckle. My sister-in-law got a pair too and she said they are comfortable but best to size up half a size. She brought her pair for traveling and she got her regular size and her feet hurt so bad from the back of the flats as the elastic on the back is rubbing on her feet.

I love how classic Reva looks and I could wear them with jeans, shorts and skirts. Very versatile. Just hope I can break them in soon so I can enjoy them.

Reese Witherspoon in the same dress

Ever since I saw this on the Gap website a while back, I wanted that but thought would wait for a sale since their promo is so often. But this particular color sold out very fast. I managed to get one in my size (small) at the store, on sale for $37.99.

This dress is super easy to wear. A slightly thicker cotton. I have seen other similar-styled dress but in thin cotton. Even though it may be better for the hot summer, it will show every lump and bump. I have worn this a few times since I got it already. Love it.

J. Crew Summer Sale

Heard so much about the in store sale at J. Crew. Prices are so much better than the online ones. Plus, they have additional 30% off all sale items. Hard to resist.

Visiting family in Toronto this week. Spending the weekend here to celebrate Father's Day.

To get my shopping out of my system, so first day off to Yordale for J. Crew sale.

My wardrobe has gone from black, grey and brown to bright colors. Not just bright colors, but NEON bright. The colors on sale were this neon pink, neon peach and I believe a bright yellow. I love pink so it was not hard to pick out my color. This one is on sale for $45.99, additional 30% off.

I like this color a lot and the material is very stretchy as the name suggested. The price is great. $34.99, additional 30% off but I feel like I have a lot of solid-colored shirts already so pass for this one.

This one is not on sale but wanted to try it on to see if I like it enough for $268.........
Verdict is no. Will wait for it to go on sale.

When I saw this on the website, I wanted to try this on. Fabric is kind of sheer. I always have problem fitting into this type of peasant blouse. Don't get me wrong, I love the look of it, just not on myself. I feel like the top is too big on me but then if I size down, it would be tight on the shoulders.

Not sure what this linen top is called. Tessa, maybe?

I wasn't really into linen tops as I hate ironing. This one would make me spend a lot of time with the iron. But the price is too good to pass. $34.99, additional 30% off.

This one is the only size left. I would usually get a M in tee. This one is marked down from $42 to $24.99, additional 30% off.

another version of vintage stripe tee

This is the color I want but this is not on sale. Still $42.

This terry pullover is not as thick as a regular sweatshirt but I want to wear it alone in the summer and it's a bit too warm. Plus, it's a neon again. Once this neon trend is gone, my closet would be still stuck with many neons. So even though the price is awesome( think $34.99, additional 30% off), I didn't get this.

I never thought I would like this crochet lace tee. But I like it when I tried it on. Sold.

I was going to get the Scoopneck blouse in anchors aweigh. Last time I love it so much that I almost bought it full-priced. Now, it is on sale in store for $74, additional 30% off. What a great deal but the only size left is a whole bunch of 2's. No go for me as I could probably fit a 4 but a 2, no way. Guess will have to watch out for it online and hoping that when it goes on further sale, my size would be still available.

The other item that I was going to get was the pencil skirt in serge cotton. I tried it on a couple of times before and I can understand why so many people rave about it. I am not a skirt person and I feel too dressed up in a pencil skirt. There were lots of pencil skirts in store in the sale section. Solid colors as well as patterned ones. I was overwhelmed with all the items I grabbed to the change room that I did not bother with them.

Overall, very happy with what I got today. Such great deals on so many items. Just wish there will be further reduction in sale items for all online items soon.

Another haul?! mmmmmm it's something better

Ever since I started my blog 6 months ago, I have met a lot of wonderful bloggers. Learnt so much from them about beauty products, clothing items and makeup tips. Once in a while, I would enter giveaways.

I am the type of gal who does not have any luck in winning anything EVER. If a whole table at a charitable event won something, I would be the odd one out who did not even win a pen. I can tell you throughout my lifetime, I have won???? Oh my, I don't think I have ever won anything other than a gift certificate from a clothing store 2 years ago.

But my luck has changed. First is winning Rynetta @jcrewismyfavstore's J. Crew gift certificate. Next thing you know, I won another fabulous giveaway from Jamie @ diaryofaclosetgamer. She has a wonderful blog who gives great beauty product review and tips. Love her blog :)

I got a huge parcel in the mail a couple of days ago.

Got a beautiful thank you card. So sweet!

I was so excited when I opened the box. Haven't been this excited since Christmas morning!

Oh my my, all my goodies!

There are so many products and I am super excited to try all of these. One of them was the cleansing scrub. Heard so many good reviews about the scrubbie. I still use my Clarisonic Mia daily but mostly at night time to remove my makeup. I will start using the cleansing scrub in the morning now. Another product I'm dying to try is the Moroccan Oil.

And yes, the EOS lip balm. I have been looking for them for a while but for some reason, I can't find them in the stores I went to.

I'm like a kid on Christmas day now. Want to open every single package and play with them.

Thanks soooooo much, Jamie!!

J. Crew Tippi in heart crepe, Featherweight colorblock cardigan & Soludos espadrilles

After last J. Crew haul with just bottoms, I had to place another order on tops only! Oh, well, tops and a pair of shoes.

Not a lot of new additions to the J. Crew sale section online but they are adding some items daily so check it out.

Heading to the city this week and heard the in-store sales are fantastic. Can't wait for more hauls!

What motivated me to place another order so soon? Well, I entered a giveaway from a fabulous blogger, Rynetta @ jcrewismyfavstore.blogspot, I could not believe that I won and even better, I won a gift certificate at both our favorite store: J. Crew! With money burning in my pocket, I quickly made an order. Thanks again, Rynetta!

Lululemon running shorts in size 6

When this Tippi sweater came out, didn't catch my eye. I am actually surprised as I'm usually a big suck  for anything with heart prints.

I went with my usual size in this as this sweater is very light and I  plan to wear it mostly for cool summer nights. So didn't size up and I'm very happy with how it fits. The heart prints are handprinted(according to the little label came with the sweater). I know other Tippi sweaters can be a bit sheer but since this is a darker color, I don't see any sheerness.

(please excuse my print tee, I was so excited to try it on as soon my package arrived)

When the new J. Crew rollout came out, this cardigan was the first to catch my eye. I love hot pink and what greater way to tone it down with navy blue.  But for some reason, this cardigan did not get a lot of love from fellow J. Crew bloggers.

Here is another shot of the cardigan paired with a plain-colored tank top

This cardigan is very ligthweight, as the name suggested. I decided to size up as the fabric looks kind of snug and I don't want it to be too body-hugging.

A close-up

This cardigan is perfect for traveling as it would never get wrinkle and it is light and easy to pack.

Espadrilles are excellent for summer. Lightweight and easy on your feet. They don't come in half sizes and I'm a 7 1/2 and I decided to go up to a 8. A bit big and in the summer with the heat, feet may swell up so I think it's better to size up if you're in between sizes than being too snug. I will see if I want to put in half an insole later on if they slip off.

The Sunday Social

Just came across The Sunday Social and so happy to participate in week 1. Great way to meet new bloggers!

Here are this week's questions:

1. How did you come up with your blog name?
I love shopping and want this blog to be dedicated to my shopping habits and diaries( and yes, I need justifications in my obsessive shopping).

2. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Love meeting new bloggers and getting new ideas and inspirations. I have become more comfortable in stepping out of my comfort zone to try out new things.

3. What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without?
This one is a tough one. I have been introduced to so many great products and clothing items since I started blogging. If I have to pick just one, it would have to be Tarte Clay Smooth Operator finishing powder. That totally change my life of having oily skin and makeup disappearing on my face. Now I have a matte finish and my makeup last all day long. Yay!

4. Facebook or Twitter? And why?
Don't hate me but I'm not a fan to either one of them. I get overwhelmed with too much updates on a hourly basis. Yes, I'm interested in what my friends are up to but sometimes too much detail and too often drive me bonkers!

5. If one celeb read your blog, who would you want it to be?
I love Lauren Conrad. I think she has great styles and it would be interesting if she is my reader and gives me pointers in how to style outfits.

6. What is something you want people to know about your blog?
I want people to know what I write is 100% genuine and authentic. I don't fake to be someone I'm not. If I buy something or come across something I love, I would love to share with others.

Lands' End Canvas Shorts in Seersucker

After a solid 5 days of rain which our lawn desperately needed, back to warm summery weather. That means, bring out the shorts!

I used to wear shorts all the time. Short shorts. But as I'm getting older, the length of my shorts is getting longer. The Bermuda shorts I got from J. Crew factory are suitable to wear to work. But for short shorts, 5" is the shortest I can get.

Last weekend, Land's End Canvas had a great deal on shorts. $12 and free shipping. Can't miss out on those. But I was a bit late in the game as the color I wanted was out of stock during the sale (now it is back)

V neck tee from Abercrombie & Fitch

The color I wanted first is the navy blue stripes but the red stripes are very nice too. It is back to its original price of $45 now.

I have to say these shorts are extremely comfortable. They are a bit short IMO for myself but not too too short to wear out. I don't know how many pairs of shorts I bought before that are just appropriate to wear inside the house.

If these shorts go on sale soon again, I would no doubt pick up the navy stripes as well.

**currently(sorry expired June 7), they are running a sale on dresses, all $34 for a limited time, 20% promo code(code ICECREAM, PIN 1040) in addition, check out here **

J. Crew & factory haul

J. Crew does not have its promo regularly enough. So when they had the 30% off sale prices a couple of weeks ago, had to take advantage and got a few things.

It was very hot a few weeks ago and I realized I didn't have enough shorts. Shorts which are work-appropriate. Also  picked up a pair of ankle toothpick denim.

I have tried on the ankle stretch toothpick in store a couple of times, just to make sure I'm happy with the size and fit. However, I did not pay close enough attention to the actual color. On the website, neon persimmon looks more like a pale pink which I want. But in reality, it is more of a peachy color, which I can live with, not 100% thrilled though.

In this picture, the peach color really pops.

Here is a close up of the Madewell tee. I love the waterdot pattern on the front. Subtle enough but add details to a plain pink regular tee. The fabric is very silky and soft. Love it!

I was debating on whether to get the bermuda shorts in my regular size 4 or 6. But thought since it is white and if it fits small, I would be in trouble. Size up to 6 and it is big. I would have to wear a belt with it and tuck my top in (which  I rarely tuck in my top).

On the website, it says low rise but it sits ok on the waistline. I hate wearing low-risers, especially shorts. The fabric is a medium-weight cotton, not too sheer and not too thick for the summer.

Basic tee from Zara in s

Same bermuda shorts but in printed pattern. I went with the size 4 with this one and so glad I did. Pattern is very nice and the fabric is thicker than the white bermuda shorts.

So here is my haul from J. Crew and factory. Yes, I got a bikini top too. The reason for that is they offer free shipping for all swimwear. This bikini top was on sale for around $15 and since all Canadian orders charge $9.95 for shipping, I might as well threw this top in to quality for free shipping (oh, well, paid another $5 for the top basically)

After I placed this order, I just realized I bought all bottoms ( bikini top doesn't count) which is very rare for me. Another order on its way too with all tops, just to balance my purchase haha!!
