Burberry Holiday Complete Eye Palette

Ever since I got my Burberry Mini Beauty Box, I have wanted to try more products from the luxurious brand. I have my eyes set on their eyeshadow palette. But not sure which one to get as all of them are so beautiful and one night when I was weak and was half-dozy from my cold medication, my will power diminished and hit the "buy" button on their holiday complete eye palette.

Burberry released their holiday collection and I think this eye palette is the same as last year. Maybe just the packaging is slightly different? With the gorgeous gold package, I am totally sold.

The palette comes in a luxury Burberry pouch with 3 mini brushes. Perfect for travelling. 

The shades are non-glittery, unlike other holiday makeup collection. If you look very closely, there is very fine glitters but once applied, you could barely see on the eyelids. This is probably one of the main reason I am sold on this as I am not a big fan of shimmery shadows as I am fear of fallouts. The four shadows in this palette are so creamy, a dream to blend. Very wearable and perfect for both day time and night time when you layer them up.

Other items included in the holiday collection are Burberry Kisses and Gold Glow Luminising Powder. 

Burberry makeup products are quite pricey. I am certainly very impressed with the quality, not to mention the gorgeous packaging. Have you tried anything from Burberry makeup? What are your must-haves? 

Sephora F&F Sale Haul

For the past few years, Oct has been my favorite month for shopping at Sephora as they have their annual friends and family employee appreciation 20% off sale. But ever since Canada has its own warehouse, the stock inventory at Sephora.ca has been really not that exciting. A lot of holiday gift sets are not even available on the website. And if they are, there are only a few so if you don't grab them within the first couple of days, they would be out of stock for weeks.

With that said, I did not pick up a whole lot of exciting items from the sale. Mostly skin care products which are my staples.

Chosungah 24H Raybeam Highlighter

Chosungah is a Korean brand I am new to. I have tried their C&T Blender liquid foundation(check out my blog post on review and demo) and so impressed with the brand that I am so happy to see Sephora starting to carry a few products. On their US website, they do carry the C&T Blender liquid foundation and other compact foundations. I am hoping they will be available to us Canadians soon. 

This cream highlighter is very creamy. Unlike Benefit's Highbeam which is a liquid form, this one is much easier to blend out and stay on much longer.

Chosungah Dual Lip Tint & Gloss in Chiffon

I read a lot of raved reviews on this dual lip tint and decided to give this a try. I picked the shade chiffon. Watched on hand, the tint is a "Barbie" pink and the gloss is a peach shade.

But applied on lips, it transforms into a toned-down pink and much more wearable. It is "your lips but better" kind of tint. The tint slides on quite nicely and evenly. Not sure about the gloss as it is a bit sticky. But will continue to try that out and see how it fairs out.

I am still waiting for a few more products to be back in stock so I can finish my shopping.

Bite Beauty 250 Perk Kir Royale

Bite Beauty released their new shade for October, Kir Royale. It is a beautiful rich plum berry shade which is perfect for fall. I redeemed 250 BI points from Sephora and I got this limited edition set (not sure if it is still available. It was still available 2 days ago)

The set has a Kir Royale mini luminous creme lipstick, a Kir Royale lipgloss and a signature compact mirror.

The shade is absolutely beautiful. It is a rich wine berry shade. The lipgloss also has a very fruity scent. 

Bite Beauty released new limited-edition shades every month. They are always sold out so fast once they are released. I haven't been interested in the first couple of sets for previous months but this Kir Royale caught my eye and I am glad I grabbed the set.

Want to smell like Orange Cream Pop? Demeter Scent Memory

Have you ever walked into familiar scents which bring you back to memory lane?

Some people say they don't recall much from their early childhood. I am lucky enough to have lots of good memories of my childhood, as young as I was 2 years old. I remember my mom taking me to the park and the feeling of the barks of the trees, picking up tree branches. Growing up in the city means seeing little greenery and the scent of crisp, clean air often bring me back to those good old days.

I enjoy food as long as I can recall. For the longest time, every time I smell batter, my mind would travel back to when I had pancakes or porridge at breakfast time when I was little.

Demeter gave me an opportunity to choose a scent down memory lane. Surprise surprise, I picked scents associated with food.

I picked Orange Cream Pop as one of my fondest childhood memories consists of orange cream popsicle. This scent reminds me of just that. A sweet mixture of orange and vanilla ice cream brought me back to the best summers. What is unique about Demeter fragrance is it has a huge library of over 300 fragrances inspired by the scents of everyday objects and life experiences. They are made of 95% natural ingredients, no artificial colors, no phthalates and alcohol naturally fermented from corn.

I picked Orange Cream Pop and the Demeter team paired it up with two other scents: Sunshine and Daisy. They could be worn individually or combined. Also, they could be worn as cologne spray or room spray. Sunshine is an interesting concept of fragrance to me. How does sunshine smell like? Well, imagine on a hot summer day, you do a load of cotton tees and air them outside for the whole day. Cotton tees soaked with the sun give the long-lasting freshness crisp. This is exactly what this fragrance is. I like to spray the room with this to mimic the beautiful summer days to be brought inside. Daisy reminds me of spring with flowers start to bloom. 

I am also sent a second set which consists of Vanilla Cake Batter, Rice Paddy and Mountain Air. Vanilla Cake Batter reminds me of country bakeries with fresh vanilla sugar cakes coming out of the oven. Sugary, buttery and creamy. Anyone who likes desserts as much as me would certainly enjoy this scent. Rice Paddy and Mountain Air both remind me of hiking up trails, fresh spring water, cool mountain air.

Holiday gift sets are so tempting. While I was browsing for gift ideas, a few sets caught my eye. But with Sephora switching to its own Canadian warehouse, a lot of these sets are either out of stock or unavailable. Good in a way that I don't have the option of getting them so my wallet is happy.

It is very rare I manage to finish up a whole bottle of foundation. Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Serum is such an awesome foundation. If you like minimal makeup with a bit of coverage, this is the one for you. Sadly, Sephora doesn't carry this anymore(for Canadians). I am glad I picked up another one before the Canadian warehouse came into the picture.

Another product which we can't get is the EM Cosmetics Lash Gallery Mascara. This is my second tube and I really like the formula. If I am desperate enough, I will have to get one from the website or eBay.

I finished off a couple of sample-sized products and I really like the Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Booster. The little sample lasts me a whole week. I applied this in the morning after washing and toner. It absorbs into the skin in a couple of minutes and I believe if I use it regularly for a while, it would benefit my skin. IOPE Moisten Essential Softner is a gift with purchase when I got my IOPE Air Cushion. It is less thick in texture than your regular serum. Perfect for summer when you don't want your skin to feel extra sticky.

I am an eye cream junkie and like to try out different eye cream. Benefit Puff Off Eye Cream is one of them. I got it because I like Benefit products but not necessarily skin care products. This eye cream has a "iron" applicator. In theory, the cool metal applicator would help depuff your dark circles and under eye area to "iron out" the fine lines, wrinkles etc. But in reality, it doesn't do much. So with that said, I wouldn't be re-purchasing.

DW Kind Wine Mandarin Champagne Soy Wax Candle

Lush It's Raining Men shower gel is one of my favourite shower gel. It has an amazing scent but not overly sweet. This big bottle lasted me quite a while. Would definitely re-purchase it once I use up all my other ones.

Feels good to finish up so many products. I just wish I could use up some of my other makeup as I could never finish any blush, eyeshadow or bronzer.
