Small Benefit, Soap & Glory Haul

Did a small haul at Shoppers Drug Mart this morning. For those of you who are not familiar with Shoppers Drug Mart, it is a Canadian drug store. They carry a wide variety of name brand cosmetics as well as as drug store brands besides other essential drug store goods. They also have a decent selection of grocery items. The couple of stores in our town do not carry a lot high end cosmetic brands like NARS, Dior, Lancome etc but they do carry a small selection of Benefit cosmetics.

The store offers a points rewards system. You collect optimum points with every purchase. Many times a year, they would offer bonus redemptions meaning you could redeem your points for higher value. Sometimes, the redemption is for everything in the store. But today it is for cosmetic and fragrance items.

I buy my regular groceries and usual drug store items there and collect enough points to redeem almost monthly. To me, it is such a great reward system. Once in a while, I would redeem my points for cosmetic items to treat myself.

Benefit Hello Flawless powder foundation in Honey
Benefit Fine One One
Soap & Glory Hand Food

I have been wanting to try a powder foundation for the longest time. Sometimes I just need the extra coverage and feel the liquid foundation is too heavy.

Always a big fan of the Benefit. I have tried most of their products and they rarely disappoint me. Plus, their cute packaging was a main selling point to lure me in many years ago and I have been a loyal customer ever since.

The shade I got is honey. My store does not have a wide variety of shades for me to choose from. But think honey is the right shade for me.

I haven not tried a new powder foundation for so long. The texture of this is so creamy. Feel like it is effortless and rich to apply. I don't like powder which is so "powdery" that if my face is dry at some spots, the powder would seep into the pores/lines.

The little brochure comes with the package. It also comes with a little sponge and a brush. Think I would use my regular powder/buffing brush to apply for a more natural look.

Next, I got the Benefit Fine One One

Fine One One to the rescue(from the description): This sheer brightening cheek & lip trio- pink champagne, sheer watermelon and soft coral, blends together perfectly to give your look instant lift, shape and pop. Bring on beautiful cheeks & lips!

This is quite an interesting product. First, the packaging is shaped like a deodorant with a twist up feature.

Has 3 shades: soft coral, sheer watermelon & pink champagne

I have tried the sample from Sephora before and quite like the creamy texture of this trio. You apply this having the lightest shade lined up at your cheekbones as highlight.

When you first swatch it, the color payoff is amazing. A bit scary since it is so pigmented. From left it is the soft coral, middle is sheer watermelon and the pink champagne on the right.

After you blend the 2 blush colors, it gives you the nicest light coral shade and pretty highlight. My skin is pretty pale in the winter time and this shade is perfect for me. But in the summer when I am tanner, the shade may be too light to be visible.

Last is the Soap & Glory Hand Food I have been wanting to try so long. My Shoppers Drug Mart does carry this brand but for some reason, Hand Food wasn't available all these months until just now. Happy to grab it and give it a try.

It is described as : Hydrating hand cream made with shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow.

Marshmallow? Yes, I'm definitely in. The scent is very nice. Not too sweet. I don't like hand cream which is heavily-scented as it always clash with the perfume or body lotion you have on. This does not feel greasy at all but yet very moisturizing. Give my hands a very silky touch. Loving it so far.
