Splurge

Ok, I admit, I went a little crazy for the past 10 days. Buying things impulsively online. There are only a few items that were originally on my wish list but I went overboard.

I don't usually buy a lot of makeup, especially eye shadow as I wear very little. But heard a lot of good reviews of the Urban Decay Naked Palette. My little niece (well, she is not little but to me, she will forever be little)got the original one and loves it. They introduced the Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 a couple of months ago and are doing extremely well, meaning sold out online. Not sure if that is their marketing strategy or not. But if they know they are selling well, wouldn't they manufacture more? Anyway, I like their more neutral earth-tone color and decide to give it a try. Haven't received it yet but can't wait to try.

Have been eyeing on Banana Republic Polka Dot Pencil Skirt for probably 2 weeks now. I rarely buy things  at full retail price so I decided to wait. But with the promos lately, they are sold out. Emailed Banana Republic Canada to see if they would restock that and they replied their system cannot locate the skirt and tell me to contact the retail stores myself. Oh, well, the closest one to me is still 1.5 hours drive for me and I have no intention of doing that. I guess I can't expect all the retail stores have the same excellent customer service as J. Crew, right?

So next web site I went to is the Banana Republic US website. They had it in stock but do I want to pay an extra $30 for duty? Plus, it would be so costly to ship it back if I decide not to keep it.

Went back to the Canadian website and of course, the regular sizes are all gone but they still have plenty with the petite department. No, I'm not petite. I'm almost 5'6" and I have not purchased anything petite. I would assume it would be a little shorter in length. At least I purchased it here and if it doesn't fit the way I want to, would return it.

Next went to Land's End Canvas. I was browsing at Land's End for a few fleece tops for my parents and myself. I got them a few fleece tops earlier and they love them. So warm and cozy. So while I was there, went to Land's End Canvas and got Lands' End Canvas Button Side Crewneck in Purple Orchard. Such a good deal ($14.99), just can't pass it up.

Other items (shameful to say, I bought so much that I cannot remember exactly what I bought!!??) are just basic necessary items that I buy regularly online, which include Urban Decay Complexion Primer Potion and Sunbreeze Essential Oil. The essential oil contains oils from flowers and herbs, also some menthol. It is all natural and it is good for stubborn headaches. Just rub it a little on your temple and no kidding, headache will  disappear. Also good for sore muscles but there is a certain scent that some people may find it strong.

to be continued...........

    1. Thank you so much for the offer. That's so sweet of you. I placed the order on the petite skirt and will give it a try and see how much shorter it really is. I would think that petite sized skirt would just be shorter in proportion. But hopefully it will still work out.

  2. yay! i am happy that you got a naked 2 palette! i've been contemplating on purchase forever now, but i can't justify getting another neutral e/s palette since i always reach for purple and blues.

and the essential oil sounds very interesting! it'd be nice to keep a bottle instead of advil. ;)

    1. I was contemplating on whether to get the original or the 2. The colors from the original seem very nice too.

The essential oil is very effective in my opinion but hubby just can't stand the smell. To me, it smells more like a menthol ointment. I have an aunt who carries this oil in her purse and she said it is good for headaches, minor cramps, sprained ankles and insect after bite.
