Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

Lately I have been testing out different foundation and powder. Sometimes the BB cream just won't cut it.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

I have tried Bourjois foundation and have great experience with it. The one I have used is the mousse foundation.

Here in Canada, Bourjois cosmetics can be found in some Shoppers Drug Mart. However, the ones in my town don't carry the brand and I placed an order online with ASOS.

It is pretty hard to pick a shade online though. There are not too many shade options available. I did the best I could to guess my shade.

I got the shade 55 Dark Beige

It is a bit darker than I thought but when I blend it out well, it is ok.

As the formula of this foundation is quite fluid-y, really appreciate it is equipped with a pump so I won't over-pour too much product.

This is a gel foundation which I find very silky and smooth to apply.

When I swatched a little dot on my hand, the shade seems to match my skin. But when I blend it out a little, it is just a little bit darker than I want. Guess if I want lighter coverage, it will still work. I like to apply foundation for light coverage most of the time so this should not be a big problem.

I have been using this for more than 2 weeks now and very happy with it. It gives me a light to medium coverage. It is not matte as I prefer. It has a more dewy finish and I do set it with powder as with most other foundations. I find my cheeks oil up a bit throughout the day. So if you have extremely oily skin, I don't recommend this. I got mine at ASOS and they have free shipping, comes to $19 shipped to me. Think it is just a few dollars more than Shoppers Drug Mart.

Have you tried Bourjois products? What products would you recommend?

  2. I like Bourjois products. I find a lot of them very good for their price. will definitely go check out this foundation. I just broke my foundation and I'm searching for a replacement. If you come out to the GTA, the SDM at bayview and elgin mills has a Bourjois counter.

  3. I haven't tried any products from this line. But usually when I want more coverage I go with my Stila BB cream, gives good coverage for a BB cream I have to say

  5. I almost got this foundation. But I realized it was a light foundation. It looks good in pictures I have seen but then I have tons of freckles so I need a bit more coverage. What kind of finish does it have? Matte? Lumi? From my little test spot I couldn't tell.

    1. I would say this one has a more dewy finish. This one is buildable but since the shade I got is a bit darker than I thought so I don't want to apply too much. But I would say if you want more coverage, this one won't do it.

  7. I agree with you. I purchased this back in january from asos. and I believe I spent around 19$ for it too and all of a sudden it's dropped to about 18$
What I don't like is that on asos it gives the names of the color and not the shade numbers. I wish I would've known that hale fonce stood for the darkest shade they have. This is what happens when you don't have the foundation nearby and in stores :( sucks to live in America. lol. Good review though.

    1. totally know what you're saying. I have to go through website after website to find swatches and match the number of the swatches with the names of the shades on ASOS. But glad it works out in the end. Next time I go home for visit (Toronto, Canada) will check out more swatches from Bourjois at our local drug stores. I want to get some more blush but ASOS only has a limited selection.
