January Favorites

Can't believe the first month of the year has flew by already. I have read so many fellow bloggers' monthly favorites which I thoroughly enjoy. What a great way to see what others are enjoying at the moment.

1. Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
2. L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Crayon Concealer
3. Pacifica Tuscan Bloody Orange Body Butter
4. Maybelline Falsies Volume Express Mascara
5. Buxom Lip Gloss
6. Origins GinZing Eye Cream
7. Tarte Cheek Stain
8. Chanel Illusion D'Ombre
9. Stila Convertible Color

I have been reaching for the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation the most this month.  I got it in the shade of Fresh Beige. Love how natural it looks on my skin. It is a more watery foundation so I just pour some onto the back of my hand and apply it with a Sigma angled kabuki brush. It is a very light coverage which I prefer.

I got the L'Oreal True Match super blendable crayon concealer a couple of weeks ago. The shade I got is W-123. This concealer is a very creamy formula. From other stick concealers I have tried before, this certainly is a pleasant surprise. The crayon is a very sleek design. Think it is perfect if I have a few minor blemishes and need to take a concealer out for touch up. You don't need a brush or a sponge to apply for easy application. Just a few easy strokes of blending would do the trick.

I got this Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange body butter from my Ipsy bag in January. Really loving how amazing this is scented. Scented very refreshing but not the usual excessive sweet scent that would knock you out. A very subtle scent. I have used this so much this month that I am looking to purchase it but yet have to find where I can find this. I know this is available from the Pacifica website but unfortunately they don't ship to Canada.

This is the Buxom lip gloss in the shade Dolly. A very pretty mauve with a brownish undertone. Not very sticky and got a dessert scent. I cannot pinpoint the scent but it scented like toffee or chocolate.

I got both of these products: Stilla Convertible Color in peony and Tarte cheek stain from the Sephora favorites In the Glow set. I am loving more and more of cream blushes these days. I find by applying the cream blushes first and then apply my regular blush really help the blush stay on longer on the cheeks.

Of all the cream eye shadows that I own, the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Emerveille is the one I grab the most. It is a very nice creamy souffle texture. Perfect to apply before I apply more neutral eye shadows. It looks pretty dark in the pot in this picture but when you swatch it on hand, it is a more pinkish shade.

The one on the right is the swatch from the Chanel. The one on the left is from Maybelline eye color tattoo in barely beige. The Chanel one has a bit of shimmer. When I apply it on the inner corners of my eyes, really brighten my eyes up. I sometimes just apply it by itself, simple eyeliner and mascara and off I go.

Next on my list is the Maybelline Falsies Volume Express waterproof mascara. I love this one so much that I am considering throwing all my other mascaras out. I have lashes which are straight and even if I curl them many times, with a little bit of moisture in the air, half a teardrop, my lashes would lose their curls. I have tried other waterproof mascaras but the formula in those just don't do the trick for me. With the Maybelline Falsies, I can apply it one or two coats and it last all day and even if I have to jump in the shower mid-day(after shoveling the snow off the driveway), when I come out of the shower, my curls still hold. It can be a bit clumpy so I usually just apply it with one coat.

The last item is the Origins Ginzing eye cream. I just got this a couple of weeks ago and I apply this in the morning. It has a slight tint to the cream. When I apply it under my eyes, it really does brightens my eye area. I don't find it extremely moisturizing though so I usually would apply my regular eye cream underneath.

    1. I have used other drug store brands like Covergirl but Maybeline really impresses me. Should I try the Rocket mascara?

    1. I have been using it for close to 3 weeks now. Pretty happy with it when I want that natural light coverage look. Contemplated to get the pressed powder as well.

    1. I love the L'Oreal true match concealer crayon. It is so creamy. For days I don't want to put on foundation, just put a little tinted moisturizer/BB cream and a few strokes of the concealer crayon and I'm good to go. Thank you so much, so sweet of you :)

    1. I have tried many lip glosses and hate it when it's windy and my hair is stuck to my lips :( This one is not very sticky and stays on.
