Buy because it is limited edition? Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Color

Have you ever seen something you wish you could have but found out that it is limited edition and no longer available? It happens to me very often and when I find out it is limited edition, I act a little faster to grab that before it disappears.

Here is my latest "grab" or "score":

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Color in No.2

Described as " Lightweight multi-stripe powder offers a palette of effortless effects. Acts as a highlighter, sculpting powder, bronzer and blush - all with a sheer, natural finish and broad spectrum sun protection. "

Chanel offers this limited edition multi-color palette in 2 colors, No. 1 & No.2 in their 2014 summer collection. No. 1 is lighter shades and more suitable for pale to fair skin tone. I got No. 2 which is perfect for my medium skin tone.

Three stripes which you can use separately or blended together. Top shade is a highlighter shade which has a bit of shimmer. Middle stripe is a chocolate brown shade bronzer and the bottom stripe is rich brownish coral blush.

L to R: Blush, Bronzer & Highlighter

Top swatch is all 3 blended

I am pleasantly surprised by how pigmented the shades are. I have read mixed reviews about ladies saying they don't show up well on skin. Each stripe is wide enough and I could use my NARS Ita brush and dip in the bronzer stripe. The blended shade may be a bit too dark to use as an overall bronzer for my face. I would probably use the shades individually.

Overall, I am very happy with how this palette turns out. I am also glad I picked this up while it is still available. By the way, I got mine from the Bay.

Would you buy a beauty product just because it is limited edition?

  1. These shades look lovely. I am definitely the type to buy for limited edition. I'm also guilty of buying for packaging! Haha.

  2. Yes! I'm guilty of "thinking about" a product for ages only to go buy it and find it's long gone. I've gotten a lot better about realizing what I'll regret not buying and what I'm okay with missing.

    1. I used to get the limited edition products just because I didn't want to miss out. But lots of time, found out the products are not that worthy to get and companies always come out with similar ones sooner or later. So I am smarter now and do my research before I "run out" to get them.

  3. I have a weakness when it comes to LE, too.
Glad to hear you're happy with your purchase. I think it would work well for contouring if it is too dark for a bronzer.

    1. when I swirl all 3, it is a bit too dark for bronzing all over the face but I like to use them separately or use it as a warm-toned blush. Very pretty and I'm happy with this.

  4. pretty! I only got a bit more into LEs this year, previously didn't like the idea that if I really loved it I couldn't get more of it. Now I try out so many different things that I don't tend to re-buy unless it's really really good/HG status

    1. I wasn't into LE's before and whenever I saw something I like, found out they are LE's. So I try to be kept updated with the new releases so I could "digest" a bit and decide whether I need to run out and grab them :)
