I have been loving Revlon's Kissable Lip Stains. I got almost all the shades but I want one with a warmer brownish tone. Unfortunately they don't have the shade. Last week when HauteLook had a special on Tarte lipsurgence. I got a set. It is the first time I bought from Hautelook and heard their shipping is not the fastest. So don't think I will get the set any time soon.
I was at Shoppers Drug Mart this morning and was browsing their cosmetic display. Came across the new Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm.
The packaging is very similar to the Revlon Kissable Lip Stain
The shade I got is 265. I believe it is the shade of Cocoa Twist. I recall seeing the names on the display but cannot find it anywhere on the lip balm itself.
It is a warm chocolate shade
Here is a swatch
It glides on very easily. It is a glossy balm, not a stain. So I would expect it to be very moisturizing, just like the Revlon's Lip butter maybe? I just got it and applied it an hour ago. Still very moisturizing on my lips. But will report back how the staying power is later on.
I love Revlon's balm stains too! So this looks perfect =)

the balm stain from Revlon has a much better staying power. This one is just like the lip butter. But it is glossy and moisturizing so perfectly fine with me.
DeleteThe colour looks great! And the texture seems to be very soft.. perfect :D

yes, the texture is very soft and creamy. Moisturizing for sure but have to reapply it a few times after I eat today.
DeleteHow did I miss this when I was at Shopper's the other day? I really want to try this! Thanks for the review!

I'm surprised my little Shoppers in town carry this display. I haven't yet seen it at my Walmart yet. Wonder if it's much cheaper. I got mine today for $9.99.
Deletethe colour is really nice. perfect for winter time:)

yes, exactly. I have my lip stains from Revlon mostly of pinkish colors. This shade is perfect for winter.
DeleteIt's like the Clinique chubby stick that was relaunched 1 1/2 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't tried the Clinique chubby stick as it is the first to launch. Guess this is very similar but the staying power not as long as that as this is just the lip balm.
DeleteI need to pick this one up. I like anything that moisturizes.

this one is very moisturizing but staying power not so much. But still a very good product so far.
DeleteI gotta get one! I'm drawn to any lip balm sort of product:)
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way, anything lip balm sort of, I'm in. I love the Revlon Kissable lip stain but it does dry out my lips a bit especially in the cold winter months
Deletethe color just looks like what you wanted!
ReplyDeletehonestly, the lipsurgence doesn't last for too long and barely leaves stain on lips, maybe this covergirl lippies would be a good alternative.
let us know how you like it later on! :)
The color is pretty. I'd love to try it to see how it compares to the other balm stains x
ReplyDeleteLovely color! :)
ReplyDeleteLol it is so funny how brands are rushing to try to duplicate the original Clinique Chubby Stick :p I think CG might be a bit late to the game with this one, but at least the colour is a new offering. Seems like a good, not too vivid or intense, everyday neutral colour that's more brown than pink or peach :)
