Ipsy Feb 2013

Middle of the month has become my favorite time since that is when my subscription beauty boxes/bags arrive.

I try not to peek into other bloggers' posts to take a peek in what is in the bags. But it is getting harder every month. For Ipsy bags, a few beauty gurus on youtube already made videos of what is in the bags and create looks from the products. So it is not a total surprise to me when I open this month's bag.

This month's bag is a very thin patent bag with the ipsy logo and it is red inside to match their "red carpet theme" this month

Lash Cards- helps prevent mascara smudging and clumping

Pixi flawless & poreless face primer
MICA beauty cosmetics gel eyeliner
Coastal Scents eyeshadow palette

Lash Card

What you do is to place the lash card behind your lashes when applying mascara to avoid smudging mascara onto your eye makeup. We all know that how annoying it is to have clumped up mascara onto your all-ready-to-go eye makeup and have to clean that up.

What they actually are, are just cardboards shaped like the shape of your eye. I have used business cards before and they work just fine. So needless to say, I'm not too thrilled about this product.

Pixi flawless & poreless face primer

Can always use another primer. I already have a stack of primers to be used up before trying this one out.

Coastal Scents eyeshadow quad

I have heard some good reviews about Coastal Scents eyeshadow. Quite a pretty color selection in this one. So excited to try this out.

The formula of dark golden olive (on the far left) and dark golden rod(on the far right) is very creamy and pigmented. I'm not sure about if I would use the other two shades in the middle. I have never worn shades like sunbeam(second to the right) and it appears very chalky.

Pop Beauty mascara in black

I have not heard of this brand before and I am very picky with my mascara as only a handful of them work on my straight and stubborn lashes.

MICA Beauty cosmetics gel eyeliner in black

I am currently out of Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner so this comes in a perfect time. Always prefer gel eyeliner to pencil liner as I feel like I have more control of the lines. Happy to try this out.

Overall, not an overly-exciting Ipsy bag, compared to previous months. But still a few products that interest me. No complaints as I have had my fair share of disappointing beauty subscription boxes.
