Chanel has released a new CC Cream. It was released in Asia earlier this year and I believe this is going to be available in North America soon as seen on its official website.
If you are wondering, what is a CC cream? It is a color correcting cream which is formulated to correct skin color imperfections. For example, it is best to correct redness in your skin. BB cream, on the other hand, is a blemish balm which has a light foundation texture as well as SPF and other anti-oxidants properties.
I am a big fan of BB cream. A lot of people are not impressed with BB cream sold here in North America. I have to agree as the couple I have tried(Garnier and Smashbox), they are no different from any other tinted moisturizers.
The BB cream I have been using for 2 years is Skin 79 Hot Pink. I have oil combination skin and this has been pretty much my every day "makeup" routine.
After reading the few reviews on the Chanel CC cream, decided to give it a try. As these are not readily available here yet, I bought from a trusted ebay seller in Korea.
Chanel CC Cream Correction Complete in 20 Beige 30 ml
in very sleek and classic Chanel packaging
"This skincare formula is adapted to sensitive skin. It delivers complete correction and long-wear makeup with a lightweight, non-oily texture.
- Soothes: cornflower water comforts sensitive skin
- Moisturizes: hyaluronic acid helps maintain hydration levels all day long by trapping and retaining moisture inside the skin.
- Protects: SPF 30 and PA++++ sun filters block aging-accelerating UVA-UVB rays. The cream is formulated with a mineral filter for higher tolerance on the skin.
- Prevents: the Rejuvencia active ingredient of natural origin, derived from a marine micro-organism, is the best prevention shield against external aggressions.
- Evens out imperfections: redness, dark spots and pores are visibly diminished. The complexion is lastingly fresh and natural. "
** quoted from the Chanel brochure which comes with the CC cream **
This CC cream is only available in one shade, 20 beige. For my Vitalumiere aqua foundation, I'm a 40 and my powder in 30. This is a bit light but I think I can work with it.
I am going to try this on my hand with a minor scar from a cut a month ago.
I use a pea-sized. The texture of this CC cream is so different from my BB cream. It is light and fluffy but not like a mousse texture. Very easy to blend. It has a very faint floral scent, not overpowering though.
It has light coverage and you can see that it covers most part of my little scar. It is not greasy at all and gives the skin a very natural finish look.
I am going to try it out in the next couple of weeks on my face and report back on my review.
Are you going to try any CC cream? What is your favorite kind?
THanks`for the review!
ReplyDeleteI have not tried any CC cream, but i am looking for a good one.
Will keep you posted with how I like the Chanel CC cream. I just tried it on first day today and it's pretty impressive so far. Very matte and doesn't grease up on me at all.

ReplyDeleteI haven't yet tried BB, CC, DD any of these creams... But I do love tinted moisturizer. That's interesting to know the BB creams here aren't much different than them, they didn't sound that way which is partially why I wasn't interested. I'll have to look into the Skin79 brand. Will be curious how this holds up on your face, the scar coverage seems decent!
