Haven't you heard that apple cider vinegar is good for your hair? I have heard great things about how great it is for hair, giving it more body and a healthier shine.
Phillip Adam is a Canadian-owned hair product company based in Vancouver. Their products are all natural: biodegradable, paraben-free, gluten-free, sulfate-free, GMO-free, vegan and cruelty free.
My hair is shoulder-length, a bit frizzy(especially in the hot humid weather) and since I blow dry and straighten it regularly, damage is done. With regular washing, my hair loses shine and body over time. I was excited to try their Applie Cider Vinegar Shampoo and Conditioner*.
Apple cider vinegar is known for a lot of home remedies and has a lot of healing properties. For shampoo and conditioner, it claims it would cleanse hair thoroughly without stripping its natural oil and beneficial to healthier scalp.
Initial try:
Scent of apple cider vinegar shampoo is amazing. If you love apple, you would love it. I squirt out a generous amount to begin with and it lathers well. I rinse off then apply a generous amount of conditioner.
First Impression:
Upon towel-drying my hair and hair is semi-dry, I brush through with no tangling. After blow-drying my hair, I noticed hair is full of body but near the roots of my hair, seems a bit dry and "crunchy". Yes, I said crunchy as I examine the roots closely and this is a sensation I haven't experienced. Other than that, my hair looks ok.
I realized apple cider vinegar is a very effective cleansing agent afterwards and maybe I only needed a little amount of shampoo to have it done its magic.
So the next time around, I used much less amount of shampoo. I only used half of what I used the first attempt and it still lathers well. What I did this time differently is applying the conditioner mainly on the ends.
This time around, it works much better. I didn't have the crispy roots and hair seems much more bouncier. So the key is a little goes a long way. As it is an effective cleansing shampoo, my suggestion is not to use it every time you wash your hair. I wash my hair every other day and I use Phillip Adam ACV shampoo and conditioner once a week to throughly cleanse my hair to wash off residue from my regular shampoo. Just like skin care, you pile up products after products and once a week or so, you need to do a deep cleansing using a good exfoliator to clear pores.
