Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2012!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's. Holiday feasting sometimes can weigh you down.   When family gets together, tend to cook more than usual. Everybody is eating every hour. Doesn't matter if you're hungry or not, there is always food around.

Just before Christmas, we got our first dump of snow so we had a beautiful white Christmas.

Tried to make Rachel Zoe's famous salami. Very tasty and so easy to make. All you need is salami(mine is about half a pound), apricot/marmalade jam, honey and dijon mustard. Cut salami half way and prepare jam/honey/dijon mustard( I used 3 tbsp of jam mixed with 3 tbsp of honey, 1 tsp of dijon mustard) and spread mixture in between the salami. Preheat oven to 350F and bake for 45 mins. Make sure to line the tray with aluminum foil for easy clean up. I should have cut the salmi thinner so it will be crispier. Great appetizer and it will be great for unexpected guests.

Now Christmas is over, lots of good sales around. Since I'm in Toronto now, planning to go to J. Crew to check out their new inventory. Online sale hasn't been that great lately. They are having 25% off sale items. I was going to get a few more basic pieces like the vintage thermal stripe tee but my size is not available. Will have to keep checking daily to see if they add on new stock.

  2. I saw that episode of the Rachel Zoe Project and I am afraid to make that salami because I have a feeling that BF and I will eat it all up ourselves!

  3. Ina: You'd love this salami. So easy to make and delicious. Also makes your kitchen smell sooooooo good.

Lisa: I had the same concern as you. That's why I made it for my family so we won't end up eating the whole thing ourselves. It's so addictive though. I will probably make another one when I get home. Afternoon snack, yum yum.

  5. I would love to eat Salami. Any best place where I can enjoy this recipe. I don't like cooking at all.

  6. Alexandra: I know exactly what you mean. Over-indulging during the holidays and now is the time to cut back and go on a diet(at least for me!!)

John: This salami is extremely easy to make. It's pretty much a fool-proof recipe, guaranteed to work. Just make sure you line the tray for easy clean up. Thanks for visiting!
