Clarisonic Mia

Have read a lot of excellent reviews about the Clarisonic Mia. It is basically an electronic brush to clean your face. I have always worried about not able to clean everything off my face by the end of the day. I put on BB cream(blemish balm) pretty much daily and want a thorough cleansing of the face. The Clarisonic claims to wash the face by gently exfoliating and clear pores and as a result would have better skin conditions.

The Clarisonic Mia is pricey (priced at Cdn $119), comes with a universal plug-in for easy traveling and  Clarisonic cleanser.

There are similar products in the market such as the Olay Pro V Brush (at $39.99)

After reading the various reviews, decided to try on the Clarisonic Mia. There is a Mia 2 and it is $159.99. The only difference is it comes with different speeds and there is a timer which will beep after 1 minute(to remind you should use the brush on other parts of your face).

I was going to order it from Sephora but found out it cannot be shipped(even though it is on the Sephora website but after you proceed to Canadian checkout, it would tell you that due to restrictions, it cannot be shipped). So after a little bit of researching, decided to go with fabove.ca. It is based in Vancouver, B.C.  A few days ago, when I placed the order, they were running a special. I got the Clarisonic Mia for $119.99 and just add $1, I could get a FITI Ceramic Tourmaline Styling Iron (valued at $45). They are now running a special of if you get any flat iron/ hair straightener of $100 or above, you can also get the iron for $1.

Excited to get my Clarisonic Mia in the mail in the next couple of days and will review it after using it.

  1. I have the Mia and LOVE it. I try to use it daily but sometimes forget...I at least use it once a week for deep exfoliation. I don't think the speed setting or beep is that necessary. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it!

    1. Glad to hear you love your Mia. I have oily skin and always need to exfoliate. Thought the Mia will help me clean my skin better. Do you find it too harsh to use it daily?

    1. Of all the reviews I have read, not ONE says it is not good. So I have high hope for it.

    1. I have watched a youtube review comparing the Clarisonic to a Sonic toothbrush?! Guess they are from the same company and should work relatively the same. But it is just weird to use a toothbrush to wash your face. I was so tempted to get the inexpensive versions to try too but thought why not treat myself. Hope it will be as good as the reviews say.

  5. I only have the cheapie Olay version but so far it works pretty well. When people tell you to start off slow with these exfoliating brushes, they are not joking. I've been using the Olay brush for about a week now once each day and though I love the squeaky clean feel on my face, I do have to admit I also am feeling OVERexfoliated - it feels mildly like a sunburn - not good!

    1. I will be careful when I try the Clarisonic. Sunburnt feeling is not fun. I will probably just start using it once a day and see if my skin can stand it first. Thanks for the tips!

    1. I have read so many reviews and also demo on youtube. Everybody say it's so effective. Makes me really want to try it out and see if it is as good as everybody say it is. For sure, will write a review after I try it out. Can't wait.

  7. I finally bought one before Christmas (Sephora mistakenly priced these at just over $100 Cdn). At first I used it everyday but found that twice or three times a week is enough for exfoliation. I have the gentle scrub brush. I count 20 for the forehead, ten for along the jawline including chin, ten each for the cheeks and another ten for the nose and bridge. I love that I can take it in the shower with me and not worry about getting water damage. It's very addicting!

    1. Glad to hear you're enjoying your Clarisonic. I think I will just try it out gently first without over-exfoliating and my skin breaking out. You got yourself a good deal at Sephora! For some reason, it won't ship within Canada(online store). Can't wait to try it out.

    1. Yes, it's kind of expensive for a "facial brush". I don't usually splurge on things like that but there are so many great reviews out there that I have to try.

You have a lovely weekend too!
