Urban Decay Build Your Own Palette

Got the Urban Decay build your own palette when I was in Toronto a couple of weeks ago. But as mentioned in previous post, the shades I like were not available at the Sephora store I visited. So went online to browse the complete list of shades.

Let me tell you, there are so many new shades that I find hard to make up my mind. Like a kid in a candy store, I have to put a few shades in my cart a few times and sleep on them before making my decision.

I have their Naked Palette 2 and love their neutral colors. So besides the neutral shade which comes with the palette, I only picked one neutral.

I love the idea of how easy it is to just pop the shadows out of these cases and put in my palette.

Buck, a very neutral beige color

Asphyxia, a light purple lilac color

Hijack, a dark green

Mushroom, a dark grey shimmery color, absolutely gorgeous

So this is my palette. As you can tell, I only got 4 shades this time. I just cannot find another shade that I absolutely adore to fill up my palette at this time. Figure there will always be new shades coming and I can always add on. What is your favorite Urban Decay eye shadow? Any suggestion ?

Swatches

Walk of fame is a neutral color which I am intending to use as a base or highlighter on corners of my eye and brow bone.

Buck is another neutral shade with more of a brown tone.

Asphyxia is a light lilac color. Very pretty. Loving lilac and just notice I have none similar to that.

Hijack looks quite different from the shade shown on website. You have to swatch at it at the store to fully appreciate how pigmented and gorgeous the color is. More of a grayish green color.

Mushroom is my favorite. Brownish with a hint of silver shimmers. Perfect for outer corner of eyes.

  1. Great shades! I have yet to get the Naked2 Palette but when I think of it, is it really worth it for someone who does not wear makeup everyday? I always end up throwing away makeup :(

    1. I wasn't into eye make up before. I just put on some tinted moisturizer, concealer, blush, eyeliner and lip gloss. But since I got the Naked Palette 2, found it's just soooooo much fun to create different looks. The naked palette is a great palette to start.

    1. I was not into ANY eyeshadows a year ago. Don't know what has got into me this year. I blame it on the Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 which is a whole lot of fun and easy to use.

    1. When I saw these 2 colors, never thought I would love them. Not really my style but after I tried them, love them. Strongly suggest u go to the store and swatch them. They are kind of deceiving in the pictures.

  6. Gorgeous colours, I like that there's a mix of dark and light, neutrals and colours :) Mushroom is my favourite, I'm a sucker for shades like it. I would love to build my own palette but I think the individual eyeshadows are just over $20 each, which is a little out of my range. I guess I'll stick with their pre-made palettes, but this is such a neat concept and I love the shadows you picked :)

    1. They are indeed expensive. That's why I didn't buy all 5, going to break my bank!! Wish they would come out with half size shadows-build your own palette soon. I get bored easily and will love to try more shadows in cheaper ways.

    1. Hijack is such a pretty color. If I just see the color online, I don't think I would ever go for those. But after seeing the actual color in the store, fell in love.

    1. Interesting that they keep the name but change the color slightly, just to confuse people! There are a few old shades that I really like in my naked palette 2 but don't come in the new packaging. Some people say they fit in this palette, some say they don't.

  17. girrrrrl, so jealous! i love me some UD. i've been wanting to build my own palette so bad, but haven't had the money to fork up for it :/ Love what you picked out, though. Asphyxia is the only one i don't have and i ALMOST bought it a couple days ago... wish I had now! I couldn't possibly pick just one UD shadow that's my favorite, but most of the ones in the Deluxe or 15th anniversary palette are ones I regularly use :)
