January TopBox Canada

New year, new hope. I did not have high hopes for my January Topbox as the last couple of boxes disappointed me. I was going to give it a last shot before I decide whether I want to keep this subscription or not.

Surprise surprise, I am very happy with January Topbox.

This month's Topbox's theme is Clinique

Cannot go wrong with Clinique. It was my first ever skincare brand I used when I was 16. My Mom introduced me to Clinique when I first used facial cleanser and toner. I have been a loyal customer to Clinique for a good 10 years before I branch out and try out other brands.

In this month's Topbox:
Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector(7ml), Full size $57(30ml)
Clarifying Lotion(60ml), Full size $16 (200ml)
Rinse Off Eye Makeup Solvent(60ml), Full size $25 (125ml)
Color Surge Eye Shadow Duo (Full size $25)

I have used all their products except the Repair wear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector. Even though the Clarifying lotion and eye makeup solvent are not full-sized products, they are decent sizes and more generous than the regular sample size.

Very happy with the eye shadow duo I get. Very wearable shadows and they are the usual neutral shades I will wear.

The brown shade is very pigmented and smooth while the pink shade is a bit frosty.

Overall, very satisfied with this month's Topbox products as I know I will use them all up. Are you happy with this month's Topbox? What did you get?

  1. I used to be so terribly devoted to Clinique but veered away after I was embarrassed by a Clinique counter lady who was trying to upsell me on products. She wasn't having much luck at getting me to buy more than what I had come to purchases that day so she resorted to a low blow approach aimed at what she hoped would be a chink in my self-esteem armor. Haven't used Clinique since then & that was in the mid-90's.

    1. I had similar cosmetic counter experience in my twenties and that did put a bad taste in my mouth for that brand. I understand the sales are just trying to sell their products but when they are being too pushy and too " blunt" in their selling techniques, will turn customers away completely, for good. Clinique has a lot of nice products, especially to people who are allergic to fragrance scented products.

    1. I have subscribed to several beauty boxes last year. I would say it's a hit and miss. You get really good products for a few months straight and then the next couple of months are not that great. I usually read what other bloggers are getting in their boxes before deciding on which box I subscribe. Currently I'm subscribed to Topbox and Ipsy. If you're like me, willing to try out new products, it's worth the money. It's usually around $10-20/month and most of the time, you get more than what the monthly fee's worth.
