When there is a sale......

I got the Tory Burch Reva flats when I was in Toronto last week. I was eyeing on those for months and  was so excited when I finally got them. I have read reviews that they are not the most comfortable flats. When I tried them on many times in the store, they were very comfy and I wonder what those people are talking about.

Tory Burch Reva Flats

Got this J. Crew tee during the in-store 30% off sale event. The fabric is very light and breezy, perfect for the summer. However, this is a size L. It was 30% off $24.99 and it was too good of a deal to pass so I grabbed it. Obviously, it's 2 sizes too big for me and it falls off my shoulders all day long and the scoop neckline could plunge really low at times. Now, I want to get it in the right size since I love it so much but it is not on sale online.

Nail polish: Julep Jessica

For those who are not familiar with Lia Sophia jewelry, it can be purchased only through an advisor(like Avon). A girl from work hosted a Lia Sophia jewelry party a while back and I have been buying a few pieces here and there from her throughout the years. They are very unique pieces and they can be pricey. But they always have specials going on, like buy a few items at regular price and get a few items at half price.

I am loving the mint color this summer and when I saw this gorgeous stretch bracelet, I gotta have it. I got the matching necklace which I thought is great in the catalog, but in real life, not so impressive.

Got this Julep nail polish from my goodie-box won earlier. I'm surprised I like the color. I'm usually only wear pastel pink or purple on my fingers but I find this color very summery and match perfect with my bracelet.

Back to my Reva flats. Within 5 mins into the flats, my feet hurt. I took the advice of my sister-in-law who has a pair already and suggested to go half a size bigger. The leather of these flats is soft but they hurt on the edges at the front of the shoes. My sister-in-law told me they hurt her heels so I was surprised that they hurt at the front as well. What am I going to do? I love them and do not wish to return them.

My temporary solution:

Went out to buy these foot covers by Secret. As I don't want to wear socks with these gorgeous flats, these seem to protect(oh, well, kind of) front of my feet where the edges of the shoes hurt the most. Will report back if these make any difference at all.

Needed a pair of running shoes as mine is all worn out only after a few months. I was willing to spend a lot of money on a pair of good running sneakers before. But now I don't spend as much time in the gym as before so I'd go for cheaper kinds.

The sale for sneakers is usually before school starts but my current pair will not last for another 2 months. There is a sale on at SportChek, buy one and get a pair FREE. Yes, you heard me right. FREE pair. Guess the running shoes are from past season or even past years. Only have a very limited selection of sizes and models. But I was lucky to find 2 pairs of my size.

I got the 2 pairs for $69.98, not a bad deal at all. Of course, if you are very particular about the models and release dates, you won't be impressed. But to me, a good comfortable pair is all I need. Now, I got the bonus and got a pair free.

  1. I tried the Reva flats on and they hurt right when I wore them. As for the running shoes, that's a pretty good deal!

    1. I love my running shoes, not so much of the flats right now(I'm wearing thick socks to stretch them out in the house!!??)Hope I can break them in soon before I can wear them out.

  4. I have my eye on some Revas so I'm glad I read your review. Have you broken them in at all? I'm curious to know if they get better after a wear or two. :)

    1. I'm breaking them in as we speak: wearing extra thick socks to stretch these babies out in the house. Who would know a $200 pair of slippers would be so uncomfortable?? haha. If you have slightly wide foot, don't bother getting them. I thought mine were normal, not wide but turn out yes they are and Reva are not made for me. Will give an update after a few days of stretching and see if any improvement.

    1. I am fully confirmed that my foot is wide and these babies are not made for me. I'm stretching them out as we speak and hopefully some improvement as I cannot return them (bought in Toronto and won't return for another few weeks). Breaking in new shoes is the most annoying thing ever!

  6. My Tory Burch flats hurt my feet too in the same places (I have the quilted black ones). I've owned them for three years and they still hurt.. I think it's just the way that they are made. I wear the same kind of foot covers as you, but I also wear skin colored socks which work out to be even more comfy-and hard to detect!

    1. I was just wearing them in the house today with thick socks and I had to take them off after 2 hours. I can't even imagine how I could ever wear them out??!! I will have to keep stretching them. Love them so much I'm determined to make them work. But hearing that after 3 years, they still hurt you isn't that promising :(

  7. The flats are so cute! Too bad that they hurt though. I wonder if maybe you break them in if they will be okay...I love the jeans by the way! Such a fun summer color.

I'm loving my neon persimmon colored denim. Not a bright-color person but I'm being adventurous this summer and trying out all the bright colors.

  8. i wear foot covers with all my flats too! nice color for your pants :) too bad the top isn't on sale anymore. didn't it shrink in the wash? just wear a bandeau so you don't reveal too much or wear it off the shoulder on one side so it'll look cuter
