Essie Pilates Hottie & Don't Sweater it

I am drawn to certain colors for nail polish and I only wear certain colors. That is after my subscription to Julep Maven boxes( a monthly subscription service to Julep nail polishes). I thought I would be open to trying out different colors out of my comfort zone. It was a good time to try out new summer shades and I did enjoy a lot of the Julep colors.

For the months that I had the Julep Maven boxes mailed to me, I tried to limit myself to buying any more nail polish as I have way more than I need. After all, I only have 10 fingers and 10 toes to play with, LOL!

Essie Pilates Hottie

A lilac shade with a pinkish undertone

In this lighting, you can see the pink in it

The other one that I picked up is from the Essie fall 2012 collection. I love all the shades in the collection. Decided to go with don't sweater it.

(please excuse the sight of my foot and my flip flop tan :)

Reminds me a lot of the OPI Don't Know Jacques from a few years back. And yes, I have that polish and I love it. It would be funny to see my nail collection. I mainly have the pink shades and the dark brownish/purple shades.

Have you picked up any of the Essie fall 2012 collection polish? Which is your favorite?

    1. I am a sucker for the pink/purple colors. Every time I bring home a new nail polish and look at my small collection of nail polish, they all look so similar.

    1. Same thing here. I live in a small town in Canada and it is so unreliable on when to get the new cosmetic/nail items here. Dark green is so pretty. Perfect for fall!

  4. I wish I could venture out more with my nail polishes - but I can't wear them to work (I work with solvents a lot - hahaha especially acetone!) but my go-to color has been Fifth Avenue - such a lovely shade of red :)

    1. I love red nails but I don't have very steady hands so I try to stay away from really strong bold colors.

  5. I want to try different nail colors too. I used to wear nudes only, but have opened up to neons. I like these colors you got. They are soft and pretty.

    1. I was the same way, only wear nudes and pink. I still am too shy to wear neons in the summer. So pretty though!

  11. I LOVE Essie's color selections, however, I am not a big fan of the polish itself. I find it waay too thin- it requires to put a lot of layers which then means it takes FOREVER and a day to dry- just to chip and peel the next day. Also, I hate how thin the brush is. I have given up buying it (even though I own like 7 bottles which I will use until empty). Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color is my current favorite. I think it is cheaper than Essie, the brush is a lot bigger, and the polish goes on a lot more smoothly than Essie. Am I the only one that has these issues with Essie? Maybe it is the polish-er and not the polish itself. Check out my blog- I am also a shop-aholic!
