Skin Rescue

I don't know why I always bring new sample-sized products when I travel. It makes sense that the sample-sized products are smaller and easier to pack but they are not my usual skin care products and I have more breakouts than ever.

Went to Sephora for the third day in a row to pick up some of my usual skin care products in an attempt to control my breakouts.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, to me, is a deluxe skin care product. At CAD $45 a piece, it is luxury to me. But I have tried so many brands of cleansers and I always go back to that. It is such a gentle cleanser but strong enough to thoroughly remove makeup residue on my face.

I have the Boscia Cleansing Oil at home. I have tried the Josie Maran Cleansing Oil before so decided to pick this up. I brought a sample size of Shu uemura cleansing oil with me on this trip and after 5 days of use, my breakouts started. Not sure if it is solely because of this oil or the new GlamGlow PowerMud Dual Cleanse Treatment that I used, my skin hasn't been in this bad condition in a long time. Sometimes, you just have to play detective to try to pinpoint which product causes breakouts. But I know going back to my "safe" products,  my breakouts will be under control.

What are your skin rescue products?

  1. Aw, I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this.
I try to start using new products right after my period if possible. In this way, my skin reacts more positively toward new stuff I try. A week before period is quite the opposite, I heard.
At least you're taking an action right away to control the situation. Many people keep using problematic ones thinking it is a "purge".
    Hope you skin behaves soon!

    1. that's a very helpful tip. My skin is obviously hormonal, just like my body and I have never thought of trying out products after my period. I will do that next time and avoid those annoying breakouts :)

  2. Oh no hope your skin gets better soon! I'm guilty of the same, bringing new product samples on trips. This year I'm doing something different, trying new stuff a couple of times to make sure no reaction, then I stash it in my travel pile :) though I haven't travelled yet this year haha.

    1. I will definitely test the new products out next time before I bring on my trip. Good that I brought my holy grail GlamGlow supermud clearing treatment and I applied it last nite and saw a huge improvement already.
