Even though we were spoiled by the unexpected warm(and even hot weather) the past week, October rolled around and fall is fast-approaching. I love to wear brighter shades for the summer and fall is the season I like to switch things up a bit.
Sothys Paris is a brand I have been introduced to recently. I have tried their lipsticks and cream blush and quite fascinated by the sleek packaging.
Left: 320 rouge des Arts
Right: 310 rose Lepic
First up is their Velvet Effect Lipstick *.These lipsticks are very pigmented and have a velvety, matte finish. Even though I am not a big fan of matte lipstick as they tend to dry out my lips, these are not overly-drying. The pigmentation is awesome and just one swipe and you get the shades shown in the picture above. As they are matte, they are quite long-lasting. I like to apply them full-on then after they are completely dried off, apply a light lip-gloss on top(as I can't stand my lips being dry).
310 rose Lepic
320 rouge de Arts
310 Rose is a beautiful mauve shade which is perfect for every day. At first glance at rouge de Arts, it looks a bit intimidating. But when it is applied, it is just gorgeous. It has a slight orange/coral tint to it, making this a perfect fall shade.
Cream blush
shade:30 voile de rose
This cream blush* is a cream formula which transforms into a powder for a healthy glow. It has a velvety texture with a satiny finish. What I love about this blush is very buildable. The shade is quite intense so I apply it little by little. I use my finger to dab on enough product on my cheeks and then use a damp beauty blender to blend it out. It gives a very soft natural finish which I adore.
I have a love-hate relationship with cream blush. I have tried a handful of other brands and they tend to dry out quite fast once they are opened. I will have to see how this one is. I will try my best to keep the lid tightly secured and see if this would help its longevity.
I am very impressed by Sothys Paris. Both the lipsticks and cream blush are of high quality. They are on the pricier side though but you pay for the quality. Sothys Paris can be found in institute and spas throughout Canada. You can also call toll-free number 1-800-361-3004 to find a location near you.
