OOTD Jan 26 12

Got my Banana Republic Polka Dot Pencil Skirt. I took a chance of ordering a petite(even though I'm almost 5'6") since the skirt was sold out in regular sizes.

Tried it on today and besides it is a little shorter, I cannot see much of a difference.

The skirt is a size 6.

I am wearing this with Lands' End Button Side Crewneck. The color I have on is purple orchard heather but I believe the color is sold out.

This crewneck is in size S. Material is just like a casual sweatshirt but with the side buttons added, I think you can easily dress this up.

Looking back at these pictures make me wonder if this skirt is a little too short. Supposed to be a pencil skirt but it now look more like a mini skirt.  Debating on whether I am going to return it....... What do you think?

    1. I have looked for the regular sized one but no luck so far. I really like the polka dots and the fabric so I may end up keeping it. I will most likely wear tights with it.

    1. Thank you! I went to your blog and view your skirt. Looks so cute. At second thought, I think I'm ok with the length(I'm always in a hurry so a pencil skirt will be hard to walk fast in).

  3. Love the polka dot skirt! I definitely do not think it is too short. Then again, I'm far from conservative in my dressing, so ... :)

    1. Thanks so much! I think I am ok with the length. I was going for a pencil skirt but knowing myself, always in a hurry, think a shorter length will fit me better.

What a great blog you have! Following you.

    1. Thank you! I fell in love with polka dots and when I saw this skirt, said gotta have it. Waited a wee bit too long and the regular sizes are all gone. But I'm ok with the petite version. A little bit shorter than I thought but I think it would work.

Thanks for visiting my blog! Going to visit yours!

  7. I think you've got the legs to pull off that skirt! If you're uncomfortable on the length, maybe pair it with opaque tights? But I don't see a problem with it, I think you look great!

    1. Thanks Lisa! You're so sweet. Yes, I am going to get some new tights this weekend. At second thought, I think I like this "new length" better. I am a person who has no patience and always in a hurry. Think I may rip the pencil skirt with the speed I'm going at haha!

  8. Keep it. The skirt is not too short. At least it doesn't look short too much. Do the high school skirt test. If it is longer than your hand/arm then you are okay. Talking about high school, makes me miss it.

Great outfit btw. Love the orchid color sweater.

  14. Darling outfit! I'm adoring this combination - I think navy polkadots with this shade of purple (looks soooo much like J. Crew's bright dahlia....swoon!) are a perfect match <3 Personally I like the skirt worn as a mini, I think it looks super cute. It just depends on if you're comfortable wearing it :) I'm always so tempted to buy petite sizes too but I think I'd need to try them on instore first (haha I'm also 5'6"). I hope you keep it.

    1. Tasia, I love the J. Crew bright dahlia sweater and I found this similar sweater from Lands' End Canvas and I just couldn't pass on the great deal. I'm a little bit of a clump and sometimes worry that if I wear pencil skirt, I may rip the slit so actually this one would work. So, yes, I am keeping this. Hope you will find it in store too.
