J Crew Haul(part 1)

Yes, made it to the city and my first stop was at Yorkdale mall. There will be a new store opening up at Eaton Centre downtown this week and another store at Fairview Mall at the end of month. Yay, so excited. That means if I can't find one item at one store, I can always hop to another store. Also, the first factory store will be opened at Vaughan Mills some time this month too. My poor wallet!

I made my list before I went to the store which makes it so much easier to concentrate on the pieces I want the most. I find every time I go, I'm overwhelmed and always forget to try on pieces that I see on the website.

Snowcap quilted jacket puffer in size S (buy here)

The puffer is slightly thicker than I thought. It comes also in red and black. But I like the olive color the best for fall as it goes well with pretty much all colors.

This is a size small and I thought maybe I can size up to a medium. I tried on the medium and the shoulder is just too big and the length of the sleeves are too long. I would probably just wear a thin sweater or a tippi underneath most the the time, so I think the small should be fine. I zipped it all up to make sure I can still breath.

Collection cashmere polka dot sweater (buy here)

I love the pink dots on the burgundy sweater. The cashmere is ever soft. I think it is much softer than the cashmere cardigan I got from last winter. They don't have the size small available so I tried on the medium instead. I just got the same pattern scarf on ebay. I believe it is currently sold out online. So I didn't bring this home as much as I would like to.

Stovepipe trouser in wool check in size 4 (buy here)

I just love check pants. They are so easy to wear and versatile. This one is particularly nice as it is fully-lined. I like everything about this pants except the price. For $188, I think the price is quite deep for a pair of wool pants. So I passed.

Cafe capri in wool (retro jade) in size 4 (buy here)

Don't think I would normally grab this color. But since I have my retro jade/navy stripe rugby top on, I grabbed that and surprisingly love the color. I don't have any pants of that color. Online it is still $104.99(Canadian website) but it is on sale for $49 in store. What a big price difference! Of course, I wouldn't pass on a great deal.

No. 2 pencil skirt in double serge wool in size 2 (buy here)

Since I was trying on the retro jade cafe capri, next I grabbed the retro jade No. 2 pencil skirt. They don't have my regular size 4 but I got the size 2 to try on and it fits. So I think you can easily size down for this skirt. I never own a wool pencil skirt before and read reviews that this year the fabric is much thinner. To me, it is ok. But if I have previous seasons to compare, I would probably prefer the thicker fabric. Pass for me.

I have other reviews too so stay tuned for part 2.

    1. I love anything polka dots. Isn't it adorable? But I just got the same pattern scarf so I didn't get that.

  2. Man those are great in-store deals! I wish J. Crwe would expand out of the Toronto area. An Ottawa store would do so well!

    1. the in-store deals are amazing. How can they do that to online shoppers? So unfair. Yes, it would be my dream come out when they open a store in Ottawa. I will be visiting every weekend :)

    1. I love my new jacket. Even though it is not thick enough for Canadian winters, I am going to wear it a lot this month.

    1. I love quilted jacket and when I saw this online and love the color. Canadian winters are harsh. Time to start bundling up.
