Battle of Concealers

For the longest time, I only had one concealer in my collection. I used that to cover dark circles under my eye, cover blemishes and imperfections. It probably is one of the biggest makeup mistakes I made.

I have inherited dark circles and puffy eyes from my Dad. With just one concealer, it really cannot do the job properly. Key point is to find a good color corrector to counteract the dark area. My favorite is the Graftobian Glamour Creme Palette. It is so creamy and perfect for under eye area.

To cover my dark circles, my top pick is It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye. It is quite thick in texture and you only need the tiniest amount. I use my ring finger to blend it for best results. The shade I have is medium and it matches my skin tone nicely and also has a brightening effect. I have to set it with a setting powder to offset the slight shine.

For blemishes, some concealers do a good job in covering them up. But they dry out around the blemishes, making it more noticeable. My new favorite to cover blemishes is Nars Creamy Concealer. It does not dry out the blemishes.

With extra problematic blemish, my go-to is Benefit Erase Paste. It does an awesome job in covering the redness and staying power is quite long.

My new 3CE Waterful Concealer is still being tested out. So far, I like how easy it is to squeeze out the product and it is so easy to blend.

Another new concealer I just bought lately is this Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette in Medium. I got this from Target. My blemishes like to leave behind stubborn dark pigmentation afterwards. This palette is perfect to cover up the dark pigmentation and this is also great to throw in your purse to mid-day touch up.

Do you have a variety of concealers in your collection for different purposes? What is the one you cannot live without?

    1. definitely. But so far I like it. It is quite liquidy, unlike all my other concealers. I like to use it to cover up my light blemishes and imperfections. Have to yet test out how it stays on a hot humid day.
