Panera Bread Strawberry Poppyseed Salad Wannabe

I love Panera Bread Strawberry Poppyseed Salad. Every summer, they bring this popular salad back. I am trying to make this salad at home.

The secret to this fabulous salad is its salad dressing. I have searched online for copycat recipes and come up with this:

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/8 cup vinegar
1 tbsp poppyseed
2 tbsp sugar

I tried not to put in so much sugar in it but the vinegar really makes it sour. I may cut down on vinegar next time. But the dressing comes pretty close to the one at Panera.

  1. Heyy, I love your blog... and this salad is delicious! My grandad is italian and he loves to cook. He makes his own salad dressing by mixing mayonnaise, vinegar, a squeeze of lemon juice and a dash of olive oil and it is delicious... I bet if you added your poppy seeds to this dressing it would be a really tangy dressing! :)

    1. I am always get the bottled dressing and first time making my own dressing. It is so simple and I like the fact that I could control how much sugar I put in. Thanks for visiting :)

  2. This salad looks so refreshing and tasty! I've never thought to combine berries with leaves and then have a mayo-based, vinegary dressing. Must try it one day :)

  3. This looks delicious and I love the addition of the berries. Right now I have been obsessed with arugula! I know the flavor isn't for everyone since it is rather bold but I pair it with fresh mozzarella, tomato, a sweet vinaigrette, crushed or candied cashews and some mandarin oranges. I have been eating one every day for the past week lol.
